Trees take time to grow. They weather storms, shed leaves, and quietly bloom in their own season. Human healing is no different.

Deciding to explore counselling is a courageous first step, and my goal is to offer a warm, safe, and truly inclusive space where you feel genuinely heard, respected, and understood.
As a person-centred counsellor and an Individual Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), my practice is rooted in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. I don't see my role as giving advice or telling you what path to take. Instead, I trust implicitly in your natural capacity for growth and self-healing. My role is to walk alongside you, offering a compassionate, non-judgemental space where you can explore what matters most to you, entirely at your own pace.
Before training as a counsellor, I spent nearly 25 years teaching in secondary education, where pastoral care was always at the very heart of my work. Alongside my private practice, my agency volunteering has given me extensive experience supporting diverse individuals, including adults, young people, neurodivergent clients, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
I believe that effective therapy requires continuous reflection and growth. To ensure my practice remains grounded and effective, I actively build on my core foundation through post-qualification development in attending specialist conferences on trauma and completing advanced specialist training focused on counselling young people. This ongoing commitment ensures that both adults and younger clients receive nuanced, trauma-informed care tailored to their unique needs.
I support clients navigating a wide range of life experiences and challenges, including anxiety, depression, and low mood, as well as chronic illness and long-term health conditions. My practice warmly embraces and celebrates neurodivergence, while offering support around identity, self-acceptance, life transitions, trauma, grief, and painful life changes, alongside faith, spirituality, and finding personal meaning.
My personal faith grounds my values of grace, empathy, and unconditional acceptance. My practice is fully inclusive and I warmly welcome people of all faiths, spiritualities, and none. Whether your beliefs are central to your therapy or completely irrelevant to it, our work together will always be guided by your needs and goals.
Living with a chronic illness myself, I bring genuine empathy and lived understanding to the ways health, identity, and daily life intersect. I offer a gentle, affirming space where your whole self is welcomed, validated, and met with compassion.
Outside of counselling, I find balance and renewal in nature and wildlife. The patience, resilience, and quiet growth found in the natural world deeply inform my approach to therapy, reminding me that every person unfolds in their own time and in their own unique way. I am also passionate about music and believe it is most definitely good for the soul!
